Conference Dates: April 15, 16, 17, 2009 (Wed., Thurs., Fri.) Friday will be an all-night service and attendees will leave to return home on Saturday, the 18th.
Location: Christ Centered Church, Ntinda, Uganda
Attendees: We hope to bring at least 200 Christian Women in Leadership from remote bush areas of Uganda. This is a first-time event for most of these ladies. We will transport and accommodate them. We also expect some women in leadership from the Kampala area, however we are not targeting these ladies.
Ministry Focus: Because women in Uganda are held in low regard culturally, many struggle with their worth and value. These are Christian leaders who pour their lives out in service to God, their husbands and the church, but seldom, if ever, are edified or acknowledged as a viable part of the Body of Christ. Our focus will be to minister encouragement, healing, hope and Holy Spirit empowerment to these women so they can go back to their villages and pass it on to the women under their ministry.
Common Issues: Polygamy, Abandonment Betrayal, Abuse (sexual and physical), Witchcraft, Poverty
Budget: $3000, this will cover the expense of bringing 150 upcountry women, plus housing and food. I've asked Monique to calculate what it would cost to bring one up-country woman including food and lodging. We are hoping to bring the total number of attendees from the villages to 200 women through sponsorships.
Note: word is spreading about this conference and the women and their husbands, are very excited about it. With our budget, however, it is necessary to limit who we can bring. Please pray for wisdom, discernment and provision.
