Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10
A Word From Terri
Do you have one of those prayer lists which seem to go on and on?  I do.  And even though I know the Bible is full of encouragement to present our petitions to God: "He is attentive, His arm is not too short to reach our need, the fervent prayer of the righteous avail much, nothing is impossible with God...," there are those times when I look around and wonder when God is going to get started on the answers.

A few weeks ago, I got up early and walked up the hill to my prayer deck in the woods.  It was one of those times.  It didn't seem like God was moving.  The air was very still and there was no movement in the woods at all.  I looked around at the trees and not a single leaf was moving.  That's when I heard the quiet, gentle voice of the Holy Spirit.

He was telling me to listen.

I heard birds chattering, and somewhere there were a couple squirrels jumping overhead in the trees.  As I was trying to find the squirrels, I noticed a tiny spider scurrying up an invisible web.  A lizard ran up the tree next to me and the Holy Spirit's voice spoke loud and clear, "Though the woods are still and without movement on the surface, there is a whole world of activity going on which you cannot see.  So it is with all those seemingly unanswered prayers.  Be still and know that I am God."

On closer inspection, I have seen that God truly has been at work behind the scenes in this ministry.  I  needed that gentle reminder to be still and know that, yes,  He is God?and He is on the move.  In this newsletter, I have highlighted some of what God has been busy doing here at TCM.

Actually, so much has been going on around here, it would be impossible to tell it all in just a few paragraphs in the newsletter so you might want to check my website periodically for updates and new photos.  Very soon, we will be uploading video clips.  One will be of Ray of Hope Medical Center in Uganda and one from our 2008 Mission Trip.  If you are in a blened (step) family, check out some of my posted articles.  You may find just what you need to address an issues you are dealing with in your family.

Breaking news! New Board Members Added to TCM Board Directors

We have welcomed three new board members to the Terri Clark Ministries Board of Directors.  Nina Jaramillo Washawanny, Mickey Gates and Rhonda Counts.  Each of our new directors bring years of personal and professional expertise to the table and we are grateful for their enthusiasm and willingness to serve.  Some of our loyal, founding TCM Board Members stepped into an advisory capacity as we formed an Advisory Board.  Their input will be invaluable to the sitting board.

Last month, our Board met to discuss the tremendous amount of growth TCM has experienced in the last year and took a look at the strategic goals outlined for the next year.  We are right on target with our goals and are amazed with all the progress.  God truly is on the move! We've acquired a new office building and land on which to build Sweet Water Conference and Retreat Center for married couples in blended families, we've completed construction of the second floor of the Ray of Hope Medical Center in Uganda, and have over 160 children going to school through our sponsorship program.  We are excited about the forward progress as God moves us on to the next thing.

Uganda News
Meet Melody
I would like to introduce you to my new Administrative Assistant, Melody Scully.  I am thrilled to have her capable hands working side-by-side with me in the TCM office!  She will be handling the Uganda Sponsorship Program as well as a number of other responsibilities in every area of ministry from Sweet Water and blended families, to day-to-day paperwork.  She has already relieved a tremendous weight from my shoulders.  Melody is the answer to many months of fervent prayer.  Welcome to TCM Melody!

My name is Melody Scully and my family and I have sponsored Grace Naluyima since April of 2006. We've had a picture of this beautiful little ten year old African girl hanging on our refrigerator for the past two years. I'd pray for her when I passed, thinking about what life was like for her.  Being a teacher, and part of a family of teachers, it blessed me to know that we were providing an education for Grace. However, it was so hard to really grasp the concept of sponsoring this child. I didn't know her surroundings, her family, or even if she enjoyed going to school. That all changed when I went with Terri and our ministry group to Uganda. I had a chance to meet Grace, the girl I had been praying for, and I discovered she had been praying for me as well. In the picture, she looked like a normal little ten year old girl, but when I met her, she was twelve years old and a full three inches taller than me, her twenty-three year old ?sister'. She had a beautiful smile that lit up a room and was so excited to meet me and thank me for what my family had done for her. The ministry team hosted a "Sport's Day" for the community and all of the sponsored kids attended. It was here that I was able to meet her older brother, who is also sponsored through the program. We played volleyball together and were able to sit and talk. They were my Ugandan brother and sister, my family on the other side of the world. Toward the end of our trip to Uganda, I was able to visit Grace's school. During this visit, she learned that I was a teacher and I learned that she was a passionate student. She sat and listened to me tell about America, and the schools in this country. She was amazed that most schools were free, but she did not understand why a large number of children would not want to be there. Education, for her, was the way out of poverty, and thus, of utter importance. She led me by the hand to all of her friends and teachers and introduced me with excitement and gratitude. It was so humbling to see the fruit produced through the sponsorship ministry and to know that lives were being changed through the compassion of God's people.

Ray of Hope Medical Center

We are Two-Thirds Complete!!!

On the evening of our arrival in Uganda, our hosts were anxious for us to see the Medical Center.

Standing prominently, two stories high, and sporting a new golden color, the Ray of Hope Medical Center was absolutely beautiful.  I barely recognized her!  Climbing the stairs to the "Faith Floor," I was truly overcome with emotion.  None of us, who had been on previous mission trips to Uganda and were able to measure the progress of this building's construction, could hold back the tears.

As awesome as it was to behold, empty, on our arrival, it was even more incredible to watch the doctors and nurses utilize the space as they treated over 160 patients a day on our medical mission.  We have all witnessed the powerful impact this small hospital has had on this community.  After we leave, people will continue to be healed in body, soul and spirit every day?in Jesus' Name. Wow!

Needs:

· After our medical mission, many of the patients returned for follow-up treatment & meds.  Because they received free care previously, the staff provided free follow-up. The only funds available for treatment & meds was staff salaries and overhead money.  The doctors, nurses and staff have not been paid for June or July.  They must be paid to be able to care for their families' needs.  Please pray God provides the $5000 necessary to catch up salaries and re-stock the pharmacy.

· We are all more anxious than ever to see the construction completed.  The next step is to enclose the "carport" area on the ground floor to make room for surgery and recovery rooms.  The original plan was to have these on the second floor.  However, after looking at logistical concerns such as transporting patients up and down the stairs and the need to provide a quiet, sterile environment, we decided it best to use the space we have on the ground floor.   Once the surgical area is complete, we will move on up to the third floor, where it will be completed?in victory.  Please pray for God's provision.

2008 Uganda Mission Trip

The Youth Team: Visited nine schools, ministering to approx. 4500 students with at least 50 salvations; team went door-to-door in streets of Ntinda preaching the Gospel to any who would hear and prayed for any who had need.  Families opened their homes, eager to know about Jesus resulting in over 90 salvations?some had been devout Muslims.  The team did presentations in churches and some taught classes.  The overall impact was quite profound on many different levels?in the Uganda church, in people's lives, and in our team members.
